Since I launched www.DepressionHealed.com and www.TheJoyEquation.com – our team at www.BartonPublishing.com has been doing more research on anxiety and stress.

Here are a few of our notes so far:

  • We’ve also found a site for anxiety self help treatment protocols, located here: http://sidereus.org/main/article.php?sid=172
  • Magnesium deficiency is a known factor in heart disease as well as anxiety. Another possible reason people with more optimistic attitude live longer is that they may be happier and less worried because they have sufficient magnesium levels, which in turn may also have a protective effect on their hearts. “
  • Nutritional deficiency could seriously hamper the body’s production of amino acids, which are vital to good psychological health. Neurotransmitters, made from amino acids, are chemicals which transmit nerve impulses between the brain cells.
  • Serotonin, a key neurotransmitter made by the amino acid tryptophan, helps to regulate feelings of contentment and anxiety, as well as playing a role in regulating depression.
  • Many adults do not have sufficient levels of tryptophan because their intake of nuts, seeds and wholegrains is too low
